I remember many Wisconsin supper clubs. The Pines, Maple Grove, Fireside, Oasis….to name a few. What I remember and thought was good business was when the owners were in the restaurant helping out….and going from tale to table, getting acquainted and visiting with their patrons. Good food and good PR were a must. I now live in West Virginia, and miss the good old Wisconsin supper clubs!

Charisma. Personality. Character. Being greeted by someone over 40 and by first name, or a personal welcome from the owner at the host/hostess station. Unique location. I remember as a child, loving the experience of going out to dinner at places called, “The Bauerhaus”, “The Laurel”, “Anchor Inn”, “The Country Dam – Best Place by a Dam Site” – all unique in their location and personalized service.
